I built my own team and created a wedding photography and videography package Dorset couples can trust. A team who understand weddings, understand photography, and work seamlessly together from first email to dance floor, whilst bringing fun and big vibes.
The goal was simple. Create a relaxed team to offer great wedding photography and wedding videography Dorset that feels smooth from start to finish.

I’m Joe Weil, a Dorset wedding photographer first and foremost. After more than ten years photographing weddings across Bournemouth, Poole and the wider Dorset countryside, I started noticing the same issue again and again.
Couples were booking photographers and videographers separately who had never worked together, never planned the day together and sometimes had very little wedding experience. They would walk down the aisle behind the bride and father, step into the rings and the kiss, and unintentionally get in the way of key moments.
To be fair, I have worked with some brilliant videographers over the years. But more and more couples were ending up with two suppliers meeting for the first time on their wedding morning, and that was becoming a problem.
So I decided to fix it.

How It Works (Simple, No Stress)…
1) Let’s chat and check availability
Once I’ve confirmed I’m free on your date, we’ll have a relaxed chat, either in person or over Zoom. We’ll talk through your plans, your venue, and what you want from your day, and make sure we’re a good fit. This bit matters.
2) Secure the date
If you’re happy to go ahead, your date is secured with a small deposit. The remaining balance is due at least 14 working days before the wedding, keeping everything simple and straightforward.
3) Plan the day without overthinking it
Closer to the wedding, we’ll go through the plan for the day, including timings, group shots, and anything important to you. Nothing overcomplicated, just enough structure so everything runs smoothly.
4) Enjoy your day
On the day itself, I’ll arrive early, settle in with a few jokes, and blend in with your guests. I’ll guide you when it helps, step back when it doesn’t, and capture everything naturally as it unfolds.
5) Editing and delivery
After the wedding, I’ll carefully edit your images and deliver your full online gallery. You’ll receive around 400 to 600 photos, plus a complete black and white set, all ready to download, share, and relive. Typical turnaround time is 4 to 5 weeks for photography.

Do you do posed photos at all?
Yes — but only the helpful kind. I’ll guide you for a few standout couple photos and any group shots you want, then it’s back to natural moments and enjoying your day.
We’re awkward in front of the camera… will that be a problem?
Not at all. Honestly, most couples say this. My job is to keep it relaxed, give you something easy to do, and make it feel like a breather rather than a performance.
How long until we get the photos back?
Turnaround depends on the season, but I’ll always give you a clear timeframe when you book — and you’ll get your gallery the moment it’s ready.
Can we meet before booking?
Absolutely. If you’d like a quick call or a coffee to talk through your plans and see full galleries, I’m happy to do that.
Do you travel outside Dorset?
Yes — Dorset is home base, but I regularly shoot across the South West and UK.
