Many brides and grooms will have had to deal with planning their perfect day to wrestling with shoppers for the last loo roll on the shelf as the pandemic hit, and changed our lives forever.
Weddings have had to be cancelled, postponed, and rescheduled, and going forward we will have to consider COVID-secure guidelines and protection for when the big day arrives. While the vast majority of photographs taken during the wedding day will be of the happy couple, the group photos may need a little more thought.
Here are some tips on how to plan your wedding photos.
-
Planning and preparation
Meet with your photographer about a month before the big day and chat about how you would like the family and guests to be captured. Create a list of shots, and check who needs to be socially distanced, and don’t forget to include the names of everyone, as that will help with coordinating the group shots.
-
The ‘all guests’ group photo
Even with the number of permitted guests being reduced to 15, it will be quite a challenge to ensure everyone is appropriately socially distanced. When discussing your photo requirements with your photographer, chat about the venue and discuss options for where the group photo can be taken.
-
Move quickly
If you have had to reschedule your wedding, or are looking to book it for the near future, then you will need to move fast! With the number of postponements from 2020, 2021, and even 2022 will be getting booked up quickly, so check with your vendors as soon as you are able.
-
Keep everyone in the loop
From the very start of your planning, make sure you keep everyone in the loop, not just your photographer and wedding venues in Bournemouth and Poole. Working together will help remove a lot of the stress on the day if everyone knows the plan.
As is oft-repeated, these are unprecedented times, and maybe not the dream wedding you would once have envisioned. But with a little forethought, you can be prepared for the unforeseen and make it a day to remember.
