In a recent study by London-based wedding planning app Bridebook, it stated that the coronavirus would directly impact up to 64% of weddings in 2020, be that in the form of travel restrictions, postponements, cancellations, or restricting the number of guests. But what was bad news for 2020 is good news for 2021…
The race for wedding dates in 2021 is already on, and lots of couples are now thinking that a midweek wedding is the way forward. Kelly Mortimer, wedding expert with over 20 years’ experience, is predicting next year is going to give a bumper boost to the wedding industry:
“If businesses can weather the storm this year, 2021 will be epic. People should expect weddings any weekday—and going into the office the next day with a hangover!”
Government guidance currently limits weddings in England to a maximum of 30 people in total, but Kelly doesn’t believe smaller weddings will become the norm.
“Once we can party, everyone is going to let loose,” she says. “Guest lists will probably increase as a result.”
